NCCR Automation boosts Switzerland’s position as a leading worldwide hub for research, education, and innovation in automation and control engineering. We investigate new methodological approaches and control algorithms, and their implementation in distributed, embedded computation systems. The methods and algorithms that we develop are applied to real-life problems in automation of energy networks, in future mobility systems, and in industrial processes.

NCCR Automation is led by ETH Zurich; the research network comprises institutes from EPFL, Empa, FHNW, UZH, the University of Basel, SUPSI, OST, ZHAW and Inspire. 31 principal investigators (PI) lead the scientific work, and numerous doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers are engaged in the various research teams.

Code of conduct

At the Swiss CLOCK Summit, we aim to foster a safe, inclusive, and positive atmosphere where ideas can be freely exchanged, and professional connections can flourish. We expect all participants to treat one another with respect. Harassment, discrimination, or personal attacks will not be tolerated, and any problematic behavior must cease immediately upon request.

We remind participants that communication issues can arise even without the intent to offend or harass. Therefore, we encourage everyone to be mindful of how their comments may be perceived and to approach all interactions—formal or informal—with consideration and care.
